The Georgetown-Sumner Immune-Engineering Program

The Georgetown-Sumner Immune-Engineering Program is an advanced research and innovation biomedical program at Georgetown University. The program was created through the collaboration between the Sumner Group and the Georgetown University with the intention to improve the health of people in the developing world and the world at large.

The program goal is to explore untapped areas of human immunobiology to further our knowledge and understanding of the immune system biology and the role played by the immune system in diseases that may lead to the development of highly innovative preventive and therapeutic approaches.  This includes the development of immune preventive and therapeutic approaches to wide arrays of diseases including infection and cancer that are not only highly effective but also feasible and affordable for low resource environment.
