Safe Haven for Vulnerable Women & Orphans

Recently, The Sumner Foundation has become involved with a project in Ukraine to deliver a facility to rehouse orphans and vulnerable women enabling them to start rebuilding their lives from a safe haven.

The mission is to provide a secure facility overseen by Ukrainian Child Services working with UK and US NGOs with a specific role of providing secure accommodation and medical attention, for both physical needs and mental trauma for unaccompanied children and their caregivers, orphans and single mothers evacuating with young children (due to male conscription laws). These groups have been victim to and remain most at risk of sexual violence, exploitation, and human trafficking.
