David Sumner is a long-term investor based in the UAE.
David founded Sumner Group in 2018 to consolidate and build upon his business interests. He has over 25 years of experience in developing successful global business platforms focusing on healthcare, security & defence and mining sectors with a specific interest in UK capital markets.
He has served on numerous private and public company boards in both an executive and non-executive capacity and has a track record of raising capital through debt and equity fundraising
David was born in London and set up The Sumner Foundation in 2019 to enable young adults, living in the United Kingdom, reach their potential.
A highly experienced and multi-award-winning philanthropist and humanitarian, Stefan has led NGOs in challenging environments in Africa through which he has partnered, most notably, with the United Kingdom FCDO, US Aid and UNICEF. He is a recognised expert in humanitarian interventions.
Stefan is an experienced financier and entrepreneur and is King's College London's Professor of the Practice of Entrepreneurship, being made a Fellow of King’s College in 2020 for ‘Outstanding Service’. In 2017 a charity he Chairs, Pump Aid was awarded 'Charity of the Year' (Aid & Development) at the UK Annual Charity Awards for its pioneering solution to alleviating water and food poverty in Malawi, providing sustainable, clean water to over 1.35m people. He has worked extensively in the townships of Cape Town, South Africa, providing safe education, sustenance, and support to thousands of children between the ages of 2 and 6 to get them 'School Ready' through his NGO the Afri-Can Children's Charity. He has led humanitarian missions in CEE focusing primarily on the protection of children. Stefan was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2014. He has been named as one of ‘London’s Most Influential People’ in the London Evening Standard Progress 1000 List for his work in Charity, Philanthropy and Social Impact.
Alastair Glover is a Private Wealth partner with Trowers & Hamlins in Dubai. He has over 10 years' experience in advising high net worth individuals and families, family offices and trustees on global estate planning and tax efficient investment structures.
Alastair has significant experience in international succession planning including offshore trust and foundation structures, tax advice, immigration and family governance.
Alastair is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP) and a STEP Arabia Committee member. He regularly speaks at conferences regarding a variety of private client issues.
